SPRINGFIELD – Springfield’s latest dining option provides restaurant quality meals to go.
Mayor Domenic Sarno joined with Delaney House and Log Cabin owner Peter Rosskothen to officially open the second and latest Delaney’s Market at 1365 Main St. on June 19.
The company has two other locations – Longmeadow and one opening soon in Westfield – and Rosskothen said the planning for this location has been taking place over the past year.
Sarno said, “The announcements continue as far as establishments come to downtown.”
The mayor added, “He [Rosskothen] put his money where his mouth is and he puts his food where your mouth is.”
The company describes the market as “a retail store that features chef-inspired ready-made meals that are fresh and ready to serve with no real effort.”
There are appetizers, soups, cheeses, salads, sandwiches and entrees ready to be eaten as well as a selection of frozen items. The meals can either be heated in the oven or by microwave. The store also offers a variety of beer and wine and features a service that allows customers to call in an order and have it delivered to them curbside.
Roberta Hurwitz, the general manager said, “We are so excited to be part of downtown Springfield! The renaissance of the city is happening; we look forward to being a great citizen and neighbor.”
The market is going to be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This is the second Delaney’s Market store. The first is at the Longmeadow Shops and opened in 2016. The company plans to open two more locations this year in Wilbraham and Westfield.
Rosskothen said, "I love this amazing community of Western Massachusetts, but I am especially grateful for the support we have gotten over the years. We live in a great place with great people.”
