Suffield Players open new seasonDate: 10/9/2015 SUFFIELD, CT – The Suffield Players proudly open their 63rd season with the classic whodunit “The Mousetrap” by Agatha Christie.
Famous for being the longest running play in the history of theatre, the Players’ production is directed by veteran actor/director Denise Boutin. The show performs on Oct. 8, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, and 24 at 8 p.m. in Mapleton Hall in Suffield CT. There will also be an Oct. 18 2 p.m. matinee.
The Players add this classic gem to their long-standing tradition of producing murder mysteries at historic Mapleton Hall.
The group has mounted more than 20 mysteries since 1952 when they first incorporated as a community theatre ensemble.
The Mousetrap tells the story of eight people trapped in a snowbound house, one of whom is a murderer, but which one?
The audience is drawn into a tangled web of drama and deception, clues and comedy, all concocted by “The Queen of Crime,” Agatha Christie.
“What’s over 60 years old, still fashionable, keeps you on the edge of your seat and is endlessly entertaining?” Director Denise Boutin said. “If you guessed Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, you’re right!”
A new book “A is for Arsenic: The Poisons of Agatha Christie” by Kathryn Harkup attests to the contemporary appeal and legacy of this Guinness World Record setting author.
