EAST LONGMEADOW Jump start your New Year by giving, and receiving, when you attend a free class at Heartsong Yoga for their annual "Will Teach Yoga for Food" New Year's Day Yoga Classes. At 3 p.m. on Jan. 1, an All Level's yoga class will be offered, free with your generous food item donation to the Open Pantry. This class is geared to all students, both new and experienced, and will be a class for stretching and strengthening along with deep relaxation and a little meditation. Also at 3 p.m., in their newly renovated second yoga studio, Heartsong will host an Astanga (Power) Yoga class, also free with an Open Pantry food item donation. While not an "advanced" style of yoga, Astanga is more physically demanding, and one should have yoga experience, or be a runner or an athlete who trains regularly to enjoy this class. Everyone is welcome, junior high school age and above, to both give back to the community by helping to stock the Open Pantry, while receiving the practice of self-care, for body, mind and heart. Heartsong is located at 264 North Main St., Condo East, on Route 83 in East Longmeadow. Call for information at 525-0720, or visit on the web at www.heartsongyoga.com. |
