Grit24 Fitness allows people to work out on their schedule

Date: 8/29/2023

LUDLOW — Residents of Ludlow and surrounding communities will have the chance to go to the gym based on their schedule.

Grit24 Fitness is aiming to open on Nov. 1 at 56 East St., according to owners Marco Vieira and Jared Duff.

It will be open 24 hours a day and seven days to allow for people with different schedules to be able to head to the gym if they choose.

“One of the main things that is going to set us apart is we are a 24 hour gym. So, people will have keycode access. They can use the gym 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” Duff said.

There will be different levels of memberships available for purchase, but those prices will be announced closer to the grand opening.

Vieira said he has also been involved with fitness his whole life and after living in Ludlow for the last 10 years, he was tired of either driving to a different town or setting up a home gym.

He decided it was time to bring his idea for a gym to Ludlow.

Vieira said, “I recognized the need for a gym here in [Ludlow]. We have a few big box gyms around the area, but I wanted to do something completely different. It’s hard enough making it to the gym, it’s hard to get energized getting to the gym so I wanted to create something very motivating that makes people want to be here.”

Grit24 Fitness will be taking over All Day All Night, an old gym space, but Vieira and Duff said that it will be a completely different setup and atmosphere.

Duff said, “We have completely renovated the gym from what it was. When people say, ‘oh you guys just reopened All Day All Night,’ it’s nothing like what was there. It’s been completely gutted down to the studs, all new everything. It’s the same location without being anything like the other gym.”

Their plan is to have staff there from at least 5 a.m. to 7 or 8 p.m. incase people have questions or need help.

Duff and Vieira are both contractors and business partners at West Valley Builders who are making sure the place is put together how they want.

Duff added, “Big thing for us is we are a community; we want people to come to the gym. We want you to come to the gym, we want you to exercise, we want you to meet your goals, we want you to be a part of the grit family no matter what level you’re at whether you’re starting out or a fitness model or someone who competes in competition.”

Grit24 Fitness will be offering personal training, special group classes along with a space for people to work out individually.

Both owners are excited for the personal trainers they have on board.

They did not want to release their names yet but had only good things to say about them.

Vieira said, “Special classes will be created by a very well-known fitness instructor in this area. He’s been in the fitness industry for about 20 years now and is going to manage it. He is creating a lot of unique classes. We are trying to cater to many different people.”

Duff added, “We have a new trainer going to be coming up and she’s a woman that has competed in International Body Building competition so she will be a trainer as well. We are going to have really good people there to train and to encourage and to have people meet their goals.”

The set-up will look like one big room with free weights, functional machines and room in the back for group classes to take place.

There will also be a lounge area and shake bar when you walk in along with a men and a women’s locker room with lockers and showers.

The name of the gym has to do with the mentality Duff and Vieira want people to have when working out there.

Vieira said, “The name has a big part of the gym. To us, it’s very meaningful the word grit. Basically, the way I have been brought up was if you want something, you have to jump through any obstacle to get it. You set a goal to lose some weight or whatever it is, you got to do whatever what it takes and that’s what we want to inspire people to do when they come to the gym, go for it.”

Duff and Vieira said that people should be on the lookout for updates on the gym’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/grit24fitness while they are in the process of finishing its website.
