LUDLOW — The Ludlow Community Center/Randall Boys and Girls Club announced that a maintenance project will affect the availability of the pool facilities from Aug. 7-28.
The pool will be closed for three weeks to undergo tile and gout repairs.
Ludlow Boys and Girls President and CEO Josue Irizarry said the process will take so long since they need to drain the pool, conduct the work and wait for everything to dry.
He added there are no major problems with the pool and the work to be performed is the same that most pools receive during their lifetime.
In a statement the club said, “We understand that this may cause inconvenience and we sincerely apologize for any disruption to your regular swimming routine. Our team is working diligently to ensure that the repairs are completed as efficiently as possible, so that we can reopen the pool for enjoyment.”
The Ludlow Boys and Girls Club said they will be applying a one-month credit to all Splasher member accounts.
The credit will be automatically applied and reflected in the next billing statement.
If a patron pays annually, one month will be added to the end of their term date and if they pay monthly, they will not be billed on Aug. 1.
For those members with full facility access, the Ludlow Boys and Girls Club said they would like to offer those members with an option to request a one month credit.
They added their membership staff will be available at the front desk to assist with the process from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m., Monday to Thursday.
Although the pool will be closed during a summer month, Irizarry said the work is being performed in August because the most popular times the pool is used is during the spring and summer months for indoor swimming lessons.
