LUDLOW – Later this summer, Mad Wings, a Chicopee-based restaurant, will be bringing its wings and food to Ludlow where Galo Rei was located.
Owner Jerry Cust said the Ludlow location will provide a different atmosphere from the Chicopee spot.
“The other one’s in a bar so this one’s free standing and it’ll have both dine in and take out,” he said. “I’ve always felt we should be in our own building,” he said. “We’re looking for better business and to be more family oriented, being in a bar people complain that they can’t come in.”
The Chicopee location currently shares a space with Geraldine’s Bar and Grill.
Cust said people can expect a wider menu at the Ludlow location once it opens.
“This one’s bigger. We do salads, quesadillas, wings – bone in and bone out – fresh cut fries, we’ll do grinders with a deli. Everything is made from scratch, all fresh no frozen. Then we’ll have appetizers like mozzarella sticks and mushroom caps,” he said.
The plan is to open the Ludlow location in the beginning of August.
“We’re looking to open between Aug. 1 and Aug. 15, we’re shooting for the first but there have been some setbacks and we are setting up the equipment,” Cust said.
Mad Wings’ Ludlow location will be at 319 East St. while the Chicopee location is 116 School St.
