LUDLOW – A town website that has needed an upgrade for years, according to Town Administrator Marc Strange, has finally got one.
After residents approved funding the project at Special Town Meeting on Oct. 3, Ludlow launched its new town website on Nov. 22.
Residents can now get to wherever they need to go “in three clicks,” according to Strange.
Some other new features include a search bar to help people find what they are looking for, such as “how do I pay my bill?”
You can also click on links to get agendas and minutes from different meetings, look for jobs and apply to them, contact a specific staff member and report problems like a pothole or tree limb hanging.
Something the town is excited about, according to Strange, is the new “notify me” button.
Residents can now go on and click on different boxes for boards and committees that they want to be notified about.
When the agendas and minutes are posted, those residents will get an email to stay updated.
One of the first things Strange wanted to do when he was named Town Administrator was to increase communication internally with the departments but also with the residents.
“I did not think our existing website did a good job of allowing the town to interact with residents and vice versa,” Strange added.
After working in Agawam and Longmeadow, Strange said both of those municipalities had a CivicPlus website that he wanted to bring to Ludlow.
“The site came out great. We are happy with it,” Strange added.
Strange encourages everyone to go check out the new website at www.ludlow.ma.us to stay updated and report any concerns or questions you may have.
