NORTHAMPTON – The annual Downtown Sidewalk Sales once again returns to Northampton this year from July 28 to 31.
During those days, residents are invited to the downtown area to experience sales and specials of over 35 local retail stores and restaurants on the sidewalks and inside their storefronts.
According to Amy Cahillane, the executive director of the Downtown Northampton Association, all of the businesses participating in this yearly event are featured on the Northampton.live website at https://northampton.live/sidewalk-sales.
“New this year, we are partnering with the Northampton Jazz Festival to host two performances on Friday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. – ‘Sidewalk Jazz’ – one group outside the Greater Northampton Chamber of Commerce building at 99 Pleasant St., and the second outside the Sullivan School building, at the corner of Main and South streets – on the Elm Street side,” Cahillane told Reminder Publishing. “Details about this are also available online at Northampton.live.”
Among the businesses participating in this event are Newbury Comics, Iconica Social Club, Haymarket Café, Ceder Chest and many more.
“As our small business community works to recover from the continuing impacts of COVID-19, shopping local is now more important than ever,” Cahillane said. “We are fortunate to live in a community that is home to so many independently-owned businesses, and so many shoppers who choose to spend their dollars locally whenever possible.”
According to Cahillane, Sidewalk Sales is a great way for residents to support their favorite stores, find some deals, and explore spots that residents have not been able to experience yet.
“We have longtime favorites and brand-new stores joining in this year’s Sidewalk Sales – great shopping, some live music, a DJ spinning tunes and a great choice of restaurants to grab a bite and make a day of it,” added Cahillane. “We can’t wait to welcome everyone to downtown Northampton.”
The event is produced by the Downtown Northampton Association, with the support of Thornes Marketplace and the city.
