Free concert at Westfield StateDate: 9/30/2009 WESTFIELD Come spend a pleasant fall afternoon listening to an eclectic blending of musical styles by flutist Elaine Saloio. Saloio is a resident of Ludlow, Massachusetts and an Adjunct Professor of Flute and Lecturer at Westfield State College. She also teaches at the Community Music School of Springfield and in her home studio in Ludlow. Saloio is an active freelance musician and soloist performing with various orchestras and chamber music ensembles throughout the New England area. She graduated with a Master of Music Degree from the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and was awarded the honor of graduating with Distinction in Performance.
Performing with Saloio will be two very prominent musicians. Lillian Buss Pearson, pianist, who has appeared throughout the continental United States, England, Costa Rica, and China as a soloist and collaborative artist, and guitarist John Mason from the highly acclaimed Back Bay Trio. John, as a part of the Back Bay Trio just released their new CD "The Journey".
The program will include a blend of American, French, and Hungarian with a twist of Tango music! The concert will take place in Dever Auditorium in Parenzo Hall on the campus of Westfield State College Oct. 4 at 3 p.m. This concert is sponsored by the Department of Music at Westfield State College and is free to the public and students.
