Girl Scouts get ready for cookie recipe competitionDate: 6/12/2014 HOLYOKE – Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts announce the return of Fork It Over, the annual Girl Scout cookie, culinary competition and fundraising event featuring some of the region’s top chefs who create original appetizers and desserts using Girl Scout cookies.
Chefs will create and present their dessert or appetizer to the public and a distinguished panel of judges at the Delaney House in Holyoke on June 24 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Participants include Chandler’s Restaurant, Dana’s Grillroom, Four Main Street Bar & Grill, Great Grapes Catering, It’s All Good, Magic Spoon Catering, Max Burger, McLadden’s Irish Publick House, Passionate Pear Catering, and Pete’s Sweets.
The panel of judges who will determine the winners in both “Sweet” and “Savory” categories is led by Mick Corduff of the Delaney House, with Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse, The Republican’s Elizabeth Roman and Northwestern Mutual’s Amy Jamrog.
Attendees will vote for People's Choice favorite. Live music will be provided by the Motown themed duo, Center Stage. A raffle will include fabulous items such as jewelry, gift cards, and much more. All attendees will receive a cookbook with the chefs' recipes, and Girl Scout cookies are available for purchase that night.
Tickets are $30 each or four tickets for $100 for advance purchases, and are available online at www.yourtimewellspent.org or by calling 584-2602. All tickets at the door on June 24 are $30 each.
All proceeds benefit Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts and their continuing efforts to provide innovative programs and vital support to girls in grades kindergarten to 12 throughout Central and Western Massachusetts.
