CHICOPEE It's show time, folks!
For the past four months, Holyoke Catholic Performing Arts Club members have been in rehearsals for this month's production of "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying!" Performances got underway Sept. 7-8 and continue on Sept. 14-15 in Veritas Auditorium at Elms College. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m.
"This show is about an ambitious window washer who uses a how-to book to get ahead," said Eva Stockhamer, director/
choreographer, who spoke to Reminder Publications.
Stockhamer noted that the Frank Loesser and Abe Burrows musical is set in the late 1960's and is appropriate for all ages.
"Area residents should support this event because these children work all summer on rehearsals as well as set building for no academic credit," she added.
Stockhamer emphasized this is a "club," with more than 85 cast and crew members.
"This large musical also funds the rest of our performing arts season, meaning that any other shows we do this 2007-08 school year will be possible because of the money we raise doing this show," she said.
Persons working behind the scenes on the club's 16th season launch include Dr. Todd Rovelli, musical director; Dr. Frank Croke, lighting director, and Darryl Geoffrey, stage manager.
Students performing in key roles include Pat O'Conner, Maggie Johnson, Bryan Pytka, Meg Borowski and Matt Pollette.
Tickets will be available at the door and are $12 for adults and $8 for seniors and students.
