Majestic Theater presents two one acts June 17 to 19Date: 6/9/2011 WEST SPRINGFIELD Two highly acclaimed one act plays by Steve Henderson will bring a unique blend of comedy and drama to summer at the Majestic Theater June 17 to 19. They're calling the production "Two by Two," Two referencing the two acclaimed one-act plays written by Steve Henderson. The production includes the acting talents of Dan Popowich and Steve Pierce. Tim Cochran serves as director of the two works:
Morse Code Anyone who has a sibling, or knows one, will love this award-winning play about two brothers in a time of crisis. As Nick Morse covers his room and self with dots, simultaneously spouting a rambling soliloquy, he is interrupted by his brother Chris, who seems to have stopped by to play some basketball. However, there is a lot more to his visit than that. Teasing, challenging, fighting and caring as only two people who have grown up together can, the Morse brothers hilariously unravel a gut wrenching tale.
The Gravedigger's Gift Meet the gravediggers from Hamlet in this play. Those two loveable clowns, now father and son, meet late at night at the graveyard, each with a purpose unknown to the other. As their confrontation unfolds, they keep us in stitches with stories about digging graves, hanging with Shakespeare, getting arrested and taking care of the family, all in language easily understood by modern audiences. Side splitting and heartwarming.
