Old Post Road Orchestra to perform 'Anniversaries and Landmarks' concertDate: 10/25/2012 HOLYOKE – The Old Post Road Orchestra, under the direction of Juli E. Sansoucy, presents their first 27th season concert "Anniversaries and Landmarks" on Nov. 4 at 2:30 p.m.
The concert, which will take place in the Majestic Chapel of Providence Place at Ingleside, 5 Gamelin St., is free and open to the public. In celebration of composer birthdays and prominent works the orchestra will make use of the chapel's balconies.
The program includes works by Gabrielli, Dvorak, as well as feature Sibelius' Finlandia and the finale to Shostakovich's "Symphony No. 5."
Old Post Road Orchestra, a nonprofit organization, is committed to providing opportunities for musicians of all ages to perform together in a community setting while providing musical and educational outreach through free concerts in Wilbraham and surrounding towns.
The orchestra is able to fulfill its mission through the generous support of area businesses, individual donations, and volunteers from the community.
