LONGMEADOW – The Longmeadow Cultural Council (LCC) will host the first annual “Local Artist Spotlight” Nov. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Storrs Library - featuring Longmeadow artist, Jeanne Rye.
The evening’s event will include a live musical performance by Peter and Abby Thomsen, along with the announcement of the council’s 2015 grant recipients. Admission to the event is free - complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
An exhibit of Rye’s work is currently on display in Storrs Library’s Betty Ann Low Room. The artist has generously donated an original oil painting titled: “Rainy Day at The Museum” which will be raffled off on the evening of the Nov. 20 event.
Raffle tickets are on sale now at the Storrs Library reference desk, tickets are $5 each, or three tickets for just $10. The prize winner is not required to attend the event in order to claim their prize.
