SPRINGFIELD – The Bing Arts Center at 716 Sumner Ave. has announced its December programming.
This energetic and engaging ensemble features Ann-Marie Messbauer, Brad Alm, Jacques Hooten, and Steve Saunders performing popular and folk favorites with verve, style, and a heaping helping of humor. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Refreshments available. Admission is $5 at the door.
The Bing is pleased to present Ukulele Christmas Show by Snapback (formerly New England Ukulele Ensemble). Snapback will perform seasonal favorites. They amaze their audiences with uniquely crafted arrangements and spectacular vocal harmonies. A memorable holiday twist will be provided by the emcee, well-known regional ventriloquist Mike Lawson with Edgar and Uncle C’mor. This is a very enjoyable family-friendly show to raise spirits for the holiday season. Tickets are available in advance or at the door at $10 for general admission and $5 for students. This group packed the house last year so advance purchase is recommended. Please note this show starts at 7 p.m.
This five-woman group will bring in the holiday spirit with a wonderful blend of Christmas classics, Pentatonics arrangements, a fabulous Jazz Gloria; beautiful sounds, mixed tempos that will entertain all ages. Members are Karen Drumheller, Brenda Jermakian, Ellen Harris, Jane Garabedian, and Kerri O’Connor. They are musicians, music teachers, choir directors, soloists, and members of the Springfield Symphony Chorus, all with a passionate love for music that they bring to each performance. Led by trumpeter Jeremy Turgeon, the band also features Jarreau Pitts on keys, bassist Forest Loomis-Dulong, Saxophonist Mtali Banda, and drummer Ashdon Reynolds.
