Double Decker Dine highlights Valley’s best eateriesDate: 8/6/2014 SPRINGFIELD – The Greater Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau (GSCVB) presents “Double Decker Dine 2014,” an exciting and unique way to tour and sample treats from some of the Pioneer Valley’s most prestigious restaurants. The event will take place Aug. 27 beginning at 5 p.m.
Guests will gather at Uno’s Chicago Grill at the Riverfront in downtown Springfield, where they will enjoy a complimentary beer or wine and delicious appetizers. Shortly afterwards, guests will depart on either a Peter Pan double decker bus, or one of two Peter Pan motor coaches at 5:45 p.m. Restaurants on the dining tour include Samuel’s Tavern, Nadim’s Downtown Mediterranean Grill, Q Smokin’ Good Food, Storrowton Tavern, and Adolfo’s Ristorante. The cost to participate is $35 for a seat on the motor coach or $45 for a seat on the double decker. Tickets are on sale now at valleyvisitor.com.
Upon returning back to Uno’s Chicago Grill at the end of the evening, participants will have a chance to win Red Sox tickets and overnight accommodations at the Marriott Copley in Boston on Sept. 5. The winner must be present to win. In addition, each participant of the Double Decker Dine will receive a goody bag with dining coupons and other items.
“We’re excited to present our fifth annual Double Decker Dine event, as it’s become a great event Pioneer Valley residents really look forward to,” GSCVB President Mary Kay Wydra said. “We’re thrilled to see so many people eager to enjoy delicious foods from the region’s most outstanding restaurants, which are also Bureau members. It’s always a fun night as we board the buses and visit each place for great samplings.”
