Italian Cultural Center to continue Italian cinema celebration in MarchDate: 2/12/2015 SPRINGFIELD – The Italian Cultural Center of Western Massachusetts (ICCWM) wishes to announce that starting with “Benvenuti al Nord (2012),” on March 6, it will begin a continuation of its Friday Night at the Italian Cinema celebration of Italian movies. There will be three movies that will be shown the first Fridays of March, April and May.
Benvenuti al Nord is a sequel to Benvenuti al Sud, a movie that the ICCWM was pleased to present last fall. Whereas, Benvenuti al Sud followed the experiences of a northern Italian in the south, Benvenuti al Nord follows the experiences of a southern Italian in the north. Skewering north/south stereotypes with slapstick humor and having fun with the Cilento and Milanese dialects, director Luca Miniero delivers another record-breaking Italian box office sensation.
You should definitely come see Benvenuti Al Nord if you are looking for some light entertainment. A perfect film for all the family! If you loved Benvenuti Al Sud, you should check this one out.
The screening will be presented by Dr. Rocco Mesiti. Dr. Mesiti is dean of students at Duggan Middle School. Dr. Mesiti is a highly skilled communicator of our ethnic identity through his work as an adjunct professor of Italian culture at Western New England University and as a past teacher of the Italian language at the High School of Science and Technology.
He is also a writer, director and producer of film.
The doors will open at 6 p.m. and the movie will start at 7 p.m. With the requested donation of $7 for members and $10 for non-members, you will be given a choice of beverage and snack.
