Springfield Museums to host Culture and Cocktails eventDate: 5/29/2015 SPRINGFIELD – On June 4 from 5 to 8 p.m., the Springfield Museums will present their final Culture & Cocktails event of the 2014-15 season at the George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum.
This month’s event, titled “Sushi & Sake,” will have a decidedly Eastern flavor in honor of the world-renowned collections of Asian decorative arts and armor on view at the “George Walter.”
Guests can enjoy sushi samples while listening to a guided gallery tour led by our knowledgeable museum educators. Attendees will also be able to view newly reinstalled galleries of American paintings and Islamic tapestries, which bring have brought accolades from scholars and art critics alike.
There will also be sake and other libations available at the cash bar.
Catering at all eight Culture & Cocktails events this year is by Log Rolling Catering, with hors d'oeuvres and other treats at chef-attended stations all included with admission. Additional food options will also be available from the deluxe Log Rolling Food Truck.
Tickets are $10 for nonmembers and $5 for members. All of the activities mentioned above are free with museum admission; advance tickets may be purchased at the Welcome Center or visiting www.springfieldmuseums.org and clicking on the June Culture & Cocktails listing under “Featured Events.” All attendees must be 21 years of age or older.
Culture & Cocktails are monthly after-five events held at one of the four museums on the Quadrangle campus. Each month’s theme is inspired by the Springfield Museums’ extensive collections, special exhibits and holiday celebrations.
