Agawam business first in Valley to offer ‘Cyberhair’

AGAWAM — With all the technological wonders that are a part of our daily lives, it is no wonder that Cyberhair would eventually work its way into the region.

Laura Judge-Castellini and Elaine Balas-Bagamary, owners of Ambiance HR and Laser Center, at 200 Silver St., are the first in the area to offer the innovative product that is engineered by Aderans. Aderans is an international manufacturer of hair systems.

“Cutting, styling and the handling of Cyberhair is very different from human hair and synthetic hair and requires extensive training to be a technician and an exclusive dealer,” said Judge-Castellini, who is certified in the technical aspects of Cyberhair. Both women recently attended the Cyberhair annual convention in South Carolina.

“Cyberhair is an innovation developed with scientific technology,” Judge-Castellini said. “It has many desirable qualities including durability, uniformity, lightness, softness, body and lift, and style memory retention.”

Castellini explained that currently, other fibers used in hair systems have an unnatural cross section shape or a damaged surface from trying to achieve the correct light reflectance properties.

“Cyberhair’s unique quality of style memory actually makes it easier to style than your own hair,” she added.

Ambiance is also an affiliate of the Hair Loss Control Clinic (HLCC), a global leader and pioneer in hair loss treatment, according to Balas-Bagamary.

Over the years, Eileen needed head covers, including wigs and scarves, to hide her thinned out hair. Just six months ago, Judge-Castellini introduced her to Cyberhair and her self-esteem has blossomed.

“I feel more comfortable with my hair, especially since it feels so natural,” Eileen said.

Eileen noted that maintenance is easy and she’s impressed that the Cyberhair doesn’t fade or get dull over time.

“Overall, I feel terrific,” Eileen added.

Amanda, also of Southwick, concurred. Since she was in eighth grade, she has suffered from alopecia, which results in hair loss.

“At times in high school my hair would come out in clumps,” said Amanda. By the time she was a senior, she had lost most of her hair. Over the years she too resorted to wigs but when she heard about Judge-Castellini offering Cyberhair, she wanted to give it a try.

“I love my Cyberhair,” said Amanda, who now has a blonde and dirty blonde style cut.
