Date: 10/9/2015

EAST LONGMEADOW – A.W. Brown’s will host its annual Halloween party Oct. 31 at 11 am.

A.W. Brown’s will have face painting, balloon animals, and costume contests for humans and pets. In addition, they will have food and a demonstration by the Springfield Police Department’s K-9 Unit.

It will also be giving away free Halloween glow sticks courtesy of Safe Kids.

“It’s a fun and exciting day that we like to share with the community,” Annie Wheeler said. “We love to see all the creative costumes that our customers and employees come up with for themselves and their pets.”

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees, including pets, should dress in costume so they can participate in the annual costume contest. Registration for the costume contest begins at 12:30 pm, and the contest begins at 1 pm. Prizes will be awarded for funniest, most creative, and best pet and owner themed costumes. The winner in each of those categories will receive a one-year supply of pet food.
