Baker, as John Adams, to speak at Rotary luncheon

SPRINGFIELD George W. Baker, acting as Founding Father John Adams, will address the Springfield Rotary Club's luncheon meeting on May 23. He will present Adams' view of the nation, history and family life in an informative, humorous and inspiring talk.

For the past year, Baker has been delighting and informing audiences throughout New England with this program "Meet John Adams A Witty and Revolutionary Conversation with America's Second President."

"I've always been attracted to Adams as someone who, though a farmer's son, used his intelligence and hard work to change the world around him through personal courage, confidence in his own talents and unfailing good taste in his political and personal relationships," Baker said.

In real life, Baker is an attorney with the law firm of Hawthorne Ackerly & Dorrance LLC in New Canaan, Conn.

The Springfield Rotary Club meets every Friday at 12:15 p.m. in the Mass Mutual Room at the Basketball Hall of Fame, West Columbus Avenue, and is a proud member of Rotary International. The Rotary luncheon with guest speaker George Baker is $17 per person and is open to the public.
