Bay Path president to headline kick off luncheon

Dr. Carol Leary, President of Bay Path College in Longmeadow, will be the featured presenter at the Sept. 17 kick off luncheon for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Western Massachusetts Chapter at the Delaney House Restaurant in Holyoke.

As a veteran front line fundraiser and advocate in the arena of development, Leary will speak about her experience as well as share the practical implications of a working chemistry with her own board members, staff and donors to the college in her presentation entitled "The Role of the CEO/President in a successful fundraising effort It is all about the Chemistry."

She has served as president since 1994 and during her tenure she has elevated the college's national standing to "among America's Best Baccalaureate Colleges in the North" as ranked by U.S. News and World Report. Leary has guided the college into a flourishing institution comprised of a baccalaureate degree program for women, a unique One-Day-A-Week College for adult women and a graduate school for both women and men. Under her stewardship, Bay Path College has also opened two new campus locations in Sturbridge and Burlington, Mass.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals is an international, professional organization represents over 30,000 members in 197 chapters through the work, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs. The association fosters development and growth of fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in the fundraising profession. The Western Massachusetts chapter meets monthly at the Delaney House at noon.
