LONGMEADOW In recognition of its innovative and high quality curriculum, the graduate programs in nonprofit management and philanthropy were recently awarded membership status by the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council (NACC). Joining nearly 50 national and international college and university members, Bay Path's Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy Graduate Program received the coveted membership in recognition of its comprehensive and cutting edge curriculum in the nonprofit management and philanthropic studies field.

"We are very pleased to welcome Bay Path as a member of NACC and look forward to working with the college and its Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy Graduate Program as NACC advances its mission to support academic centers devoted to the study of the nonprofit/nongovernmental sector, philanthropy and voluntary action to advance education, research and practice that increases the nonprofit sector's ability to enhance civic engagement, democracy and human welfare," said NACC Executive Director Sean W. Shacklett, MPA. "The college and its fellow NACC members have demonstrated a core commitment to this mission, and we are excited to partner with Bay Path to advance the field of nonprofit and philanthropic studies."

As a member of NACC, Bay Path's nonprofit degree programs Master of Science in Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy, Master of Science in Strategic Fundraising and Philanthropy, and Master of Science in Higher Education Administration will continue to prepare graduate students for leadership roles in the nonprofit sector. Through its courses that merge theory and practice, and impart the required blend of ethical, analytical, managerial, legal and financial skills, among others, Bay Path will remain devoted to the study of the nonprofit/nongovernmental sector, philanthropy and voluntary actions. The program's initiatives will continue to advance education, research and practices that increase the nonprofit sector's ability to enhance civic engagement, democracy and human welfare.

NACC will build upon Bay Path's Program by advancing the college's mission of teaching, research and service through nonprofit studies; serving as a resource for sharing best practices; fostering collaboration among programs and centers; and developing new approaches for researcher-practitioner partner-ships.

"Our faculty is highly committed to preparing our students for lives of significance and service through learning experiences that meet the needs of today's nonprofit organizations. It is truly a privilege for our Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy Graduate Program to be recognized by our peer institutions and NACC," said Melissa Morriss-Olson, PhD, dean of the Graduate School and professor of nonprofit management and philanthropy.
