Bay Path to host financial aid workshop Jan. 12

Date: 1/10/2011

LONGMEADOW — Bay Path College presents a "plain talk" financial aid workshop on Jan. 12 at 6 p.m. on the Longmeadow Campus in D'Amour Hall, 588 Longmeadow St.

Open to the public, the discussion is designed for young women who are juniors and seniors in high school or transfer college students and their families.

The financial aid workshop provides information on financing a higher education at Bay Path. In these challenging economic times, how to pay for a higher education is one of the most important factors when selecting a college. Bay Path representatives address this concern of prospective students and their parents, and discuss the benefits of a private higher education and how Bay Path can make it affordable for them.

In addition, representatives from Bay Path's admissions and financial aid offices will discuss the college's generous scholarship program and other sources of financial assistance available to undergraduates at Bay Path, one of the most affordable, private colleges in New England. They will also provide one-on-one assistance with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other student financial forms. Bay Path gives 100 percent of new full-time students a guaranteed scholarship or grant.

The average total aid package for students in 2009 was $24,000. Students can qualify for merit scholarships worth up to $56,000 over four years.

The student financial services staff will also be available to answer students' and their families' questions about financial aid.

To register or if you are unable to attend, but would like to schedule an individual appointment to visit Bay Path and learn about financial aid options, please contact the Longmeadow Campus at 565-1331, 800-782-PATH (7284) ext. 1331, or admiss@baypath.edu.
