Date: 8/8/2013

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Kazimierz Borawski, vice president of finance at United Bank, recently graduated from the New England School for Financial Studies at Babson College, an intensive two-year program for bank managers.

The program, which is run by the Massachusetts Bankers Association, provides graduates with the financial tools necessary to manage financial institutions effectively in today’s changing financial climate. It challenges students to assume senior management responsibilities and make decisions that affect a bank’s financial performance.

A Wilbraham resident, Borawski joined United Bank in 2010 as vice president of finance and has 16 years of financial industry experience. He is primarily responsible for coordinating all phases of financial planning, asset liability management, profitability analysis and reporting, peer group comparisons and investor presentations. In addition, he is a member of United Bank’s Asset Liability Management and Enterprise Risk Management committees. His previous experience includes a role as an accounting consultant in the retirement services division at MassMutual Financial in Springfield. Prior to MassMutual, he served as senior financial associate with J.P. Morgan Chase in New York City, in the investment banking division.

Borawski holds an MBA from Manhattan College, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Baruch College in New York, and is fluent in Polish. Active in the community, he is a soccer coach for the Parks and Recreation department in Wilbraham, and volunteers as a math tutor at Liberty Elementary School in Springfield.
