Business Development Series

The New England Black Chamber of Commerce, Inc. is offering a six-part Business Development Series that will provide educational seminars that support strategic planning for start up and growth of small businesses, while incorporating accountability structures that share resources and information. The monthly educational seminars will be presented as a series with a comprehensive approach and a continuity that impacts achievement, however each session can be attended individually. Session I, Strategic Planing-Goal Setting; Session II, Financial Planning and Systems; Session III, Marketing/Branding; Session IV, Infrastructure/Administration; Session V, Strategic Alliances; and Session VI, Exit Strategies/Succession Planning. Evening sessions will be meeting monthly starting Jan. 24, 5:30-7:30 p.m.; morning sessions will be meeting monthly starting Jan. 26, 7:30-9:30 a.m. Seats are limited. Registration is required. NURSE ASSISTANT TRAINING

Applications are now being accepted for the nationally recognized American Red Cross "Nurse Assistant Training" course. Several classes will be held in the coming months. Day classes: 8:15 a.m.-4:15 p.m., Mon.-Fri., Jan. 22-Feb. 13; Red Cross Chapter, 506 Cottage St., Springfield and Geriatric Authority of Holyoke, 34 Lower Westfield Rd., Holyoke from Jan. 30-Feb. 22. Night classes: 5:30-9:30 p.m., at Geriatric Authority of Holyoke, Feb. 5-March 30, Mon., Tues. and Thurs. Course fees range from $675 (includes book, blood pressure cuff and stethoscope). Payment plans are available. Limited number of scholarships available.



BOATING COURSE

The Center for Business and Technology at Springfield Technical Community College has announced that Captain Steve Larivee, U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain, will present the "Smart Boating Safety Certification Course" at STCC during the upcoming term. BUSINESS WRITING

The Center for Business and Technology at Springfield Technical Community College has announced that it will offer "Business Writing: The Essential Skill" in the upcoming term. Participants will learn how to write effectively in every format from e-mail to major reports, techniques for overcoming writer's block, and will come away from this course with a more polished, confident writing style. CLUTTER CLASSES

The Center for Business and Technology at Springfield Technical Community College has announced that Carleen Hoffman, professional organizer and owner of The Clutter Doctor, Inc. of East Longmeadow will present her very popular and effective workshop "Conquering Clutter in Your Personal and Professional Life" during the upcoming term.
