Chateauneuf named MSB vice president

MONSON – Monson Savings Bank has announced that Robert R. Chateauneuf has joined the bank as assistant vice president and commercial loan officer.

Formerly with Berkshire Bank, Chateauneuf has been in banking for 13 years. His experience, which includes branch management as well as commercial lending, provides him with a comprehensive understanding of the needs and challenges of small businesses.

Additionally, he possesses an in depth knowledge of the Western Massachusetts small business marketplace, having lived and worked here his whole life.

"His experience, perspective and ability to develop trusted relationships will be of tremendous value to our small business customers. Rob will also be a big asset as we enter the Ware market later this year."

Actively involved in the community, Chateauneuf served as a member of the Board of Directors at Hawthorn Services from 2006 to 2010, serving as president and chair from 2008 to 2010. When Hawthorne Services merged with the Center for Human Development (CHD), Chateauneuf was asked to join the CHD board, on which he continues to serve.

He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the South Hadley/Granby Chamber of Commerce and an active volunteer in Agawam, South Hadley and the surrounding communities.

Chateauneuf was born in South Hadley and is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts. He resides in Agawam with his wife Shauna and his two sons, Evan and Bryce.
