Date: 5/31/2011

EAST LONGMEADOW — In today's culture the importance of health and wellness is at an all time high and with new corporate fitness facilities popping up in communities everyday the competition can be fierce. These facilities — while promoting fitness to its members — lack the ability to focus on the needs of an individual and in many cases go without seeing members for months at a time.

Smaller scale personal training studios or independent exercise physiologists offer a greater look into an individual's current physical well being but fail to bridge that information with a successful, progressive, motivating and affordable exercise programs. Continuum Performance Center (CPC) is the solution.

CPC will celebrate its grand opening on June 2 at 6:30 p.m. CPC is dedicated to providing individually designed programs for each one of its subscribers based on his or her needs after a meeting with a CPC coach for an extensive consultation and evaluation.

Working one-on-one with each subscriber, the mission of CPC is to educate and enhance their performance in the activities and sports they are passionate about. By providing fitness programs that address the areas needing improvement, CPC is able to procure consis-tent and measurable results. CPC also offers group trainings and youth programs.

CPC is owned and operated by Geoff Sullivan. He has vast managerial experience within the health and fitness field on both the site and district levels.

In addition to being a performance coach that educates and inspires people to push their boundaries, Sullivan is an accomplished athlete himself just having completed the IronMan in Louisville, Ky., last August.

His passion for an active lifestyle extends to all ages. He launched a youth fitness program at a local elementary school within the past year and is currently on the coaching staff of the varsity wrestling team at East Longmeadow High School, where he helped to lead the team to the state championships.

"I started CPC for my subscribers. I wanted them to have a facility that they were proud of and had a sense of ownership of," Sullivan said. "I want my team to meet athletes and individuals on their terms and train them in an environment they feel comfor-table in. Our programming, mindset and environment reflect that."

Rounding out CPC's team is Mike Smith, Kevin Osgood and Chris Worrell.

Smith, a health and fitness instructor through the American Council of Sports Medicine, will aid CPC clientele in aerobic testing and measurements.

Osgood, a level two fitness golf trainer from the Titleist Performance Institute, will lead golf specific coaching and functional movement screening for CPC clients.

Worrell, a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, will work with clients on specific strength needs.

The team at CPC works collaboratively when building a program for its subscribers — input and feedback from the entire team is implemented..
