EWGA selects Choiniere as new Springfield president

GREATER SPRINGFIELD -- Joan Choiniere has been elected to serve as the 2011 president of the Greater Springfield chapter of EWGA. The EWGA (Executive Women's Golf Association) is a nationwide organization connecting women to utilize golf for business and fun.

Other elected officers for the coming year include Vice President Jane Benerakis of Feeding Hills; Treasurer Ramona Starses of Southwick and Chapter Secretary Judy Santos of Feeding Hills. Also serving on the 2011 chapter board of directors are Membership Chair Jeannie McGowin of Feeding Hills, Sponsorship Chair Dee Kuerzel of Longmeadow, Golf Education and Player Development chair Kim Kiernan of Longmeadow, Handicap Chair Gale Gates of Ludlow, Social Chair Janice Cook from Granby, Golf Events Chair Marianne Charest from Southwick, Comm-unications Chair Beth Thurber from East Longmeadow, Leagues Chair Suzanne Marotta from West Springfield, Leadership Chair, Barbara Daubitz from Agawam and Immediate Past President Kathy Labrie.

"We have a wonderful team of talented leaders and a full slate of activities and programs being planned for 2011," Choiniere said. "I encourage every woman interested in golf to join the EWGA.
