Hasbro Remains a 'Star"

Date: 8/23/2010

EAST LONGMEADOW The U.S. Department of Labor - Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has approved Hasbro's East Longmeadow site for continued participation in OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) as an OSHA VPP "STAR" site for five years.

The announcement followed the completion of a three-day on-site VPP recertification audit in early May.

"The entire Hasbro, East Longmeadow, team can be very proud of its continuous safety and health efforts and the positive results of this important external safety and health review by the federal government," Jeffrey Lombard, senior vice president Global Operations, Hasbro, Inc., said.

OSHA's VPP Program is a collaborative initiative of OSHA, management, and labor devoted to preventing injuries and continuously improving worker safety and health. "STAR" status is the highest level of excellence recognition in the OSHA VPP Program.

Hasbro's East Longmeadow site is one of only 97 VPP "STAR" status sites in New England region, and one of just 2,211 VPP "STAR" sites in the United States. Hasbro East Longmeadow was initially certified as an OSHA VPP STAR site in 2002, and then re-approved in 2005.
