Home and Garden Show lets fans meet their favorite sports mascots

The Home Builders Association of Western Massachusetts, producer of the "Original" Western Massachusetts Home and Garden Show, announced this year's show will have a fun line-up of appearances from several New England teams such as the Patriots, Red Sox and Springfield Falcons.

For the hockey lover, plan to stop by the show on March 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. as Screech, the Springfield Falcons mascot, will be at the show. New England Patriots fans will not want to miss the appearance of two of the New England Patriots cheerleaders along with Pat, the New England Patriots' mascot. They will be appearing at the Home Show on March 30 from noon to 2 p.m. Later that day, baseball lovers can come by to see Wally the Green Monster, the Boston Red Sox team mascot, from 3 to 4 p.m. Be sure to bring the entire family to get your autographs and have your picture taken.

The Home Show has always been a family event for over 50 years. Not only is it a great tool to learn about the latest in home and garden products and services, but it has always been a fun event for the entire family. There are cooking shows to tempt the taste buds, beautiful gardens to get everyone excited about the upcoming spring season, tons of prizes to win, and lots of entertainment for the family.

One of the great attractions in the past has been the unique sand castle displays created during the show which brought out the "kid in all of us." This year's show will once again feature the Shriners Children's hospital that will be selling tickets to their upcoming circus and providing clowns and magicians for the children. There are several vendors that cater to the young market such as play systems and party rental items which are a hit with the kids. Home Show 2008 is happy to be able to offer appearances of these team representatives to the show mix.

The show will take place March 27 through 30 at the Eastern States Exposition grounds in West Springfield. Show hours are: Thursday: 2 - 9 p.m.; Friday, 1 - 9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $9 for senior citizens and children under 12 are free.
