Home Builders Association hosts charity tag sale

Date: 6/18/2009

The Home Builders Association of Western Massachusetts will be conducting their annual charitable tag sale/bake sale on June 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. which will benefit the American Cancer Society. During your spring cleaning, why not set aside any unused items to this worthwhile cause. Or if you like to bake, we are also looking for baked items to sell at the event. Some of the items that we are looking for include:

- Clean and Gently Used Clothing (Especially children's clothing)

- Books, CDs, DVDs

- Stuffed Animals, Games, Puzzles (No Toys Unless Brand New)

- Household Items Such as Dishes, Small Appliances, Clean Linens

- Building Materials and Tools

- Furniture & Home Decorative Items

- Jewelry & Purses

- Sporting Goods

- Baked Goods

The sale will be conducted in the association parking lot located at 240 Cadwell Drive in Springfield. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held inside, so please drive around to the back of the building to enter. Many of the donations for the sale are contributed by members and staff of the 450+ member trade association. Public donations are also being accepted, but we reserve the right to refuse items that are not clean and sellable, or items that will not be accepted by the Salvation Army. (Remember, if it is broken, stained, torn or doesn't work, we will not be able to use it for the sale and will not be able to donate it to the Salvation Army.)

Again, the event will be held rain or shine. Proceeds from the tag sale will be donated to the American Cancer Society. The Home Builders Association is the producer of the "Original" Western Mass Home & Garden Show which occurs in March, as well as the Ideas for Living Home Show to be held Nov. 6 to 8.

For more information, or to drop off your donations of clean,re-sellable items, please call Tina Smith or Deborah Schaeffer at the HBA office at 413-733-3126.
