Home Builders ready for tag sale

The Home Builders Association of Western Massachusetts will be conducting their Annual Charity Tag and Bake Sale on May 4 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at its headquarters at 240 Cadwell Drive in Springfield. The association conducts this annual event to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. This year, the event will include a bake sale with proceeds of that sale directly benefiting Big Brothers/Big Sisters.

The Home Builders Association is a non-profit trade association consisting of 550 member companies that promote integrity in the residential construction market. Member companies, staff personnel and friends of the association donate items for this huge annual event. Items for sale can include household items and even building materials. The event will be held rain or shine. After the sale, all unsold merchandise is donated to area charities that benefit the western Massachusetts area.

The association will also be accepting donations from the general public beginning April 30 and continue on the day of the sale. Limit any donations to clean, re-sellable items such as clothing, household items, home decor, sporting goods, small appliances and electronics, furniture, etc. The association reserves the right to refuse donations of items it deems non-sellable or items that will not be accepted by area charities. Pickup of donations can be arranged in a limited area.
