Learn to be an effective speaker at JCC workshop

SPRINGFIELD Life Lessons: The William & Margery Sadowsky Center for Adult Learning at the Springfield Jewish Community Center is offering a a course on becoming an effective presenter on March 31 at 6:30 p.m. at the Springfield Jewish Community Center, 1160 Dickinson St. All are welcome.

When people talk about their worst fears, public speaking often appears at the top of the list. If you are one of those people, this session is for you whether your speaking is done at a board meeting, in a work setting or in an informal group. You'll learn the components of an effective speech and five techniques for confident delivery. Better yet, you will have a chance to practice and get feedback in a friendly, informal, helpful setting. You will leave the JCC with newly developed confidence and skills! Class size limited to 10.

The instructor is Susan Kline of Susan Kline Business Communications, who has been a communications consultant to many companies and colleges in our region for 25 years. She holds a BA and master's degree from Harvard University and has published numerous articles about effective communication.

The cost is $25 for JCC members, $35 for non-members.
