Lioness Magazine to sponsor entrepreneurship talk series entitled ‘5’

Date: 12/18/2013

SPRINGFIELD – Lioness Magazine announced this month that the publication, in cooperation with Northampton Area Young Professionals, is launching a new series starting in January 2014 titled 5. 5 talks will be hosted four times per year throughout the Pioneer Valley.

“5 is a new innovative talk series we are excited to bring to the Pioneer Valley,” Natasha Clark, founder of The Lioness Group, said. “I love storytelling and conversation that leaves you thinking, leaves you inspired, maybe even leaves you slightly changed.”

The objective of 5:

• To encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in the Pioneer Valley.

• To provide a stage for women to share their ideas, expertise and inspiration.

• To reinvigorate entrepreneurs who have chosen to headquarter their passions in Western Massachusetts.

• To pioneer a safe space for women to address entrepreneurial topics that are relevant to them.

Guests pay $10, with lunch included, to enjoy listening to five experts in 50 minutes as they speak on a variety of topics pertaining to innovation and entrepreneurship.

The series officially kicks off on Jan. 17, 2014, at Click Workspace in Northampton, with an additional five dates to be announced. The Northampton 5 speakers are Paul Silva of Click Workspace, Tara Brewster of Jackson & Connor, Amy Royal of Royal LLP, author and coach Rachel Simmons and Kisha Zullo of Events of Joy.

Tickets go on sale on Dec. 17 and can be purchased online at Lioness.eventbrite.com.

“Leadership for the Northampton Area Young Professionals, or NAYP, is always open for ways to bring people out and get them connecting both socially and professionally,” Kara Martin Snyder, NAYP’s Professional Development chair, said. “I was stoked when the leadership team brought the 5 talks to my attention. Entrepreneurship is an apprenticed craft for the modern age, so who better to learn from than real, live entrepreneurs? Plus, Lioness will spotlight some of the unique challenges that women entrepreneurs face.”

Clark said, “We have created a platform for women to share their ideas about innovation and entrepreneurship. My hope is that people come, get inspired and do something brilliant with it.”
