Local businessman listens to 'The Thundering Voice' in book on corporate responsibility

Date: 5/18/2009

Author Pedro J. Caceres, Global Vice President of Operations for LENOX, a Newell Rubbermaid Company, has recently published his book, "The Thundering Voice: Taking Corporate Responsibility to a New Level."

After completing his doctoral thesis on Corporate Social Responsibility, he wrote this book to help others understand its importance in the workplace and in daily life.

Comprehensive and engaging, the book presents solid business practices inspired by a comparative analysis of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with the social and moral doctrine of the Catholic Church. CSR has been successful because it actually delivers on its promise of helping corporations grow, while increasing operational performance.

CSR is fast becoming an important part of every company's operational standards, addressing such issues as executive behavior, broadening global markets, upholding human rights and considering business sustainability and climate change.

Caceres was inspired on this subject after reading an encyclical written by Pope John Paul II, which helped the author connect his faith with concern for social issues.
