Maland tabbed as president of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino New England

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Hard Rock International – one of the world's most-recognizable and iconic brands – is excited to announce Tim Maland, a seasoned executive in the resort and casino industry, as president of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino New England.

In his new role, Maland will lead the pre-development efforts for the proposed resort casino, located on the Eastern States Exposition campus and if Hard Rock is successful in its bid, the operations of this new location. Maland officially assumed his role as president on April 22.

Maland brings more than 30 years of resort and casino experience to Hard Rock. His previous executive experience includes positions as chief financial officer with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide at the 2,460-room Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, president of Reno Hilton Hotel and Casino in Nevada, where he was responsible for all operations of the 2,000-room hotel and 107,000-square foot casino, and executive vice president at the Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City. In addition, Maland served as director of the Nevada Commission on Tourism, where he successfully promoted visitation to the state and drove regional tourism efforts.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino New England will be designed to create a destination resort casino property unique to the region with a focus on providing a world-class entertainment experience for its guests. The proposed project is planned to utilize a mix of non-gaming and gaming amenities, to include a first-class hotel of 350 rooms; an approximately 100,000-square foot state-of-the-art casino with 100 table games and 2,500 slot machines; and a world-famous Hard Rock Cafe. The resort also is anticipated to incorporate a live music venue, a permanent music memorabilia exhibition, a facility with meeting space and a destination retail/dining galleria of approximately 100,000 square feet, including an extraordinary entry experience.
