Meredith-Springfield Associates celebrates 30 years in business

Date: 1/23/2013

LUDLOW – It is with great pride that Meredith-Springfield Associates Inc., a plastic blow molding manufacturing and engineering company located in Ludlow, marks its 30th anniversary. The company, which employs 60 people, plans to celebrate the milestone with their employees, customers and vendors.

Meredith-Springfield was chartered as a Massachusetts corporation in 1983 by Mel O'Leary. With a background in international finance, O'Leary was employed as a plant manager in the plastic blow molding manufacturing and engineering industry for several years before founding his own venture.

A true entrepreneur, O'Leary started Meredith-Springfield in his garage with one employee and one customer. Over time, he has shown a talent for identifying market niches in the plastics industry, and has won multiple awards for his patents of common household items and complex technical articles.

Today, Meredith-Springfield enjoys an international reputation for creating finished products of superior quality and for providing a hassle-free experience to companies across the globe. And it still has that first customer.

O'Leary says next to watching his children grow, nothing has given him more pleasure than seeing Meredith-Springfield grow into what it has become today.

"In the packaging business, few companies survive for 30 years," O'Leary said. "Meredith-Springfield has been successful because of our very talented and committed staff and employees, and the relationships we have established with our loyal customers and partnering vendors."

The future is bright for Meredith-Springfield. O'Leary says he looks forward to the next 30 years and plans to focus on increasing the company's visibility, both in the community and within the packaging and plastics industry. The company will continue to strengthen relationships with their existing customers and vendors while also reaching out to new prospects and possibilities.
