Nelson joins Doctors Express staff

SPRINGFIELD — With plans for the continued growth of Doctors Express Urgent Care centers in the states of Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, Master Franchisees Richard F. P. Crews and James M. Brennan, both of Longmeadow, announced the addition of Melissa Nelson to their staff.

In her role as project manager for Medvest LLC, Nelson will be responsible for supporting the development and management of Doctors Express Urgent Care Centers in Crews’ and Brennan’s territory. Medvest LLC is the parent company that holds the rights to the Master territory of the four states.

Nelson’s work will cover all aspects of the Doctors Express business, including marketing, daily operations, franchisee support, employee training and recruitment. She will also be available to help all new franchisees in Crews and Brennan’s Master area.

Nelson, a native of Springfield, is a resident of Westfield. She graduated magna cum laude from Westfield State University in 2009 with a bachelor of arts in communication. While at Westfield State, she concentrated on public and corporate communication and minored in sociology.

“We are delighted to have Melissa join our staff at this time in our growth,” Crews said. “With her talent and experience, she will be a great addition to our talented team. We are looking forward to having Melissa on board as we bring the quality care our patients experience in Springfield, Mass., to the other states in our territory.”

Before joining Doctors Express, Nelson was the assistant marketing manager at Eastfield Mall on Boston Road.
