New directors elected to MMWEC

2007-2008 corporate officers also announced on May 10

The Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (MMWEC) elected three directors and its corporate officers for 2007-08 at the organization's annual meeting on May 10 in Boylston.

Stanley W. Herriott, manager of the Ashburnham Municipal Light Department, was elected by the MMWEC membership to his second three-year term on the MMWEC Board of Directors.

William F. Waters, general manager of the Peabody Municipal Light Plant, and Sean Hamilton, general manager of the Templeton Municipal Light & Water Plant, were elected by the membership to their first three-year terms on the Board.

H. Bradford White, manager of the West Boylston Municipal Light Department, was elected by the membership to his second one-year term as president of the MMWEC organization.

MMWEC Director Michael J. Flynn of Wilbraham was elected by the Board to his second consecutive one-year term as Chairman of the Board. Other MMWEC officers elected to one-year terms by the Board are Glenn O. Steiger, general manager and secretary; Ronald C. DeCurzio, treasurer; Ronald W. Kusek, assistant treasurer; Nancy Brown, assistant secretary; and Nicholas J. Scobbo, Jr., general counsel.

The newly-elected directors join MMWEC's other Board members, including Robert V. Jolly, Jr., Marblehead Municipal Light Department manager; James M. Lavelle, Holyoke Gas & Electric Department manager; Doris A. Chojnowski, Groton Electric Light Department manager; and Scott Edwards, Georgetown Municipal Light Department commissioner. Paul Robbins of Wilbraham and Kevin J. Bulman of Hingham serve on the Board as gubernatorial appointees. Luis Vitorino and John M. Flynn are MMWEC directors representing the towns of Ludlow and Hampden, respectively.

MMWEC is a non-profit, public corporation and political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that provides a variety of power supply, financial and other services to the state's consumer-owned, municipal utilities.
