AGAWAM Oussoud Baki invited members of the community for free food and refreshments at the ribbon cutting ceremony for his "Baki's Fine Jewelry" store at the Galleria Shops on Oct. 14. "I custom design," Baki said. "People come in with a picture in their head of what they would like for rings, charms, etc. and I make it for them."

The grand opening featured Mayor Richard A. Cohen in attendence along with representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and enough Lebanese food for all to enjoy.

"By next year I would like to do a jewelry competion with local jewelers in the area to see who could do the best design piece," Baki said.

Baki has been working in the area for many jewelery shops who call him to make repairs, customizations and mountings for their clients. He now continues this work but through his own shop.

"It's in my blood," Baki said in speaking of his talent for the craft. "I concentrate my work on customer satisfaction."

The opening also featured live music, coffee provided by the "Daily Grind", and a raffle. The location is 360 North Westfield St. For more information contact Baki at 786-8100.
