Nicolai again included on 'Best Lawyers in America' list

SPRINGFIELD – For six years running, Paul Nicolai has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America in commercial litigation. Paul Nicolai founded the Nicolai Law Group, P.C. (NLG) in 1988 after serving as company counsel and assistant clerk for the Friendly Ice Cream Corporation. He has participated in a number of reported decisions. He was named a fellow in the American Bar Foundation in 2007. A former member of the Editorial Board of the ABA/BNA Lawyer's Manual on Professional Conduct - a committee of the Board of Governors of the American Bar Association - he serves of multiple committees of the ABA Business Law Section and the Center for Professional Responsibility.

He has acted as arbitrator or mediator for approximately 900 cases as a panel member or chair in many arbitrations as a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association Fee Arbitration Panel and panels of the American Arbitration Association and the American Dispute Resolution Center. He also hears and decides complex commercial and intellectual property cases as a member of the American Arbitration Association Large, Complex Case panel. He is a frequent author and presenter on issues of business law.

A longstanding participant in local and regional affairs, Nicolai is a graduate of American International College, earned his juris doctorate from Western New England College School of Law, and holds certificates from Harvard University Law School, among others.

Marwan Zubi, an attorney with NLG, has been named one of the Best Lawyers in America for 2013 in labor and employment litigation.

Zubi has been a senior attorney with NLG since 1994. His practice focuses primarily on civil litigation of business and employment disputes. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation, arbitration, and mediation. His extensive experience in various areas of law includes business, employment, construction, commercial law and contracts. He has had successful jury and bench trials in state and federal courts. He also practices before administrative agencies and the American Arbitration Association.

Last year, he successfully represented the defendants in Cook v. Patient, a precedent-setting employment law decision under the Massachusetts Wage Act.

Zubi has been named a "Massachusetts Super Lawyer Rising Star" in "Boston Magazine" and one of the "Top 10 Lawyers Under 40" by "Business West." He completed an advanced seminar series on trial techniques with William Young, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and New York, Zubi received his law degree cum laude from Western New England College School of Law in 1994.
