Patricia Pryor of the P.A. Pryor Insurance Agency of East Longmeadow made a contribution of $1,000 last Tuesday to the Springfield Open Pantry. This contribution was matched by Arbella Insurance Group of Quincy, Mass., as part of their Charitable Foundation. Pryor's comment is that there are many companies out there that are willing to make some kind of a match to your contribution; you just need to check with them. She noted that in November her husband and brother-in-law made a contribution to the Open Pantry in Schenectady, N.Y., in their mother's name and GE, her brother-in-law's employer, matched their contribution. There are many people in need of any assistance that we can give them this year whether it is a $10 or $1,000 donation. Per Patricia: "I'm sending out this challenge to all businesses big or small to try to do what you can to help. It doesn't need to be only during the holiday season, people will still be hungry in 2009."
