EAST LONGMEADOW – Last month, Redstone Creamery, an ice cream and coffee shop, opened its doors in the center of East Longmeadow, across from Center Fields on Shaker Road.

Redstone is a family-owned, family-operated business, offering such local products to their patrons as Smyth Trinity Dairy Farm, Shelburne Falls Coffee Roasters, Hood Soft Serve and Blake Family Hard Packed Ice Cream.

Redstone was conceived and established by an East Longmeadow family whose members were interested in providing a family friendly destination, a safe place for kids to go after school, as well as a relaxing and inviting setting equipped with free Wi-Fi, daily newspapers, and comfortable surroundings.

The interior of Redstone is a trip down memory lane with local historic photographs, ice cream memorabilia, a soda fountain counter and soon to come, a mural of the town of East Longmeadow, rendered by East Longmeadow High School art students, under the direction of their teacher Joan Flahive.

In addition, the owner's of Redstone are planning on displaying artwork from East Longmeadow grammar school students, while also exhibiting local talented artisan wares.

Offerings at Redstone include ice cream, sorbet and frozen yogurt cones, dishes, sundaes, shakes, flurries, floats and a create your own toppings bar. Daily coffee specials along with hot and cold coffee drinks, frappés, hot chocolate, tea and soda are also offered.

A new addition to Redstone this fall is a plethora of baked goods being brought in by 3 Café of Longmeadow. Daily fresh goodies will be offered for either eat-in or take-out. 3 Café has a reputation unlike no other for their delicious pastries, cookies, cakes and treats. Selling the café's products at Redstone Creamery provides easier access to 3's deliciousness for those outside of Longmeadow.
