WESTFIELD — Sarat Ford Lincoln, St. Mary’s School and members of the local community raised $5,850 for the school at a recent test-drive event, as part of Ford Motor Company’s Drive One 4 UR School program.

For each person who test-drove a Ford vehicle on Sept. 17, Sarat Ford Lincoln and Ford Motor Company donated $20 to the school.

Exactly $1,990 of the total funds raised were generated from the event’s Focus bonus test-drive, which allowed participants to earn an extra $10 for the school by taking a second test-drive in an all-new 2012 Focus.

Since the program’s inception in 2007, the Drive One 4 UR School program has generate more than $7 million in donations for high schools nationwide.

The money raised during the Drive One 4 UR School program has helped ensure that extracurricular actives such as sports and music programs continue in local communities despite budgetary constraints and funding cuts.

“I am thrilled with the turnout,” Jeff Sarat, general manager, Sarat Ford Lincoln, said. “Community events like this make me so proud to be a Ford dealer.

“It was a fun day and we generated a great deal of good will for St. Mary’s School. I honestly couldn’t be more pleased and hope to replicate the success we had here in the future for another local school,” he added.
