STCC to offer administrative medical assisting course

SPRINGFIELD The Center for Business and Technology (CBT) at Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) has introduced a new online program, "Explore a Career as an Administrative Medical Assistant." This program is one of hundreds of online courses that provide participants with affordable, high-quality, instructor-facilitated, non-credit online learning opportunities.

This course gives participants an opportunity to learn about the exciting, in-demand field of medical information management. They'll explore the many responsibilities of an administrative medical assistant, from making appointments and handling the front desk to creating a medical chart. In addition, they'll delve into the basics of diagnostic and procedural coding and insurance billing.

The administrative medical assistant course is part of STCC's growing catalog of more than 300 instructor-facilitated online courses.

Through well-crafted lessons, expert online instruction, and interaction with fellow students, participants in these courses gain valuable knowledge at their convenience. They have the flexibility to study at their own pace combined with enough structure and support to complete the course. And they can access the classroom 24/7 from anywhere with an Internet connection.

New sessions of each course begin every month and last for six weeks, with two new lessons being released weekly for a total of 12 lessons.
