Steinman acquires Valpak of western Massachusetts

SPRINGFIELD Valpak, North America's direct marketing and franchise organization, announces Frederick Steinman of Longmeadow has acquired Valpak of Western Massachusetts. The independently owned advertising services company will service Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin Counties and mail 180,000 households saving offers and coupons from local, regional and national businesses. Steinman is one of only 200 Valpak franchise owners who operate in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. Valpak of Western Massachusetts has relocated to Springfield at the Andrew Scibelli Enterprise Center at One Federal Street and the contact phone number is 734-2345.

Steinman is a Springfield native and 32-year television and radio veteran. He has led the sales and management operations for western Massachusetts media companies WWLP-TV 22, an NBC affiliate, WAQY Radio "ROCK 102" and WNNZ 640 Radio.

His investment in Valpak represents the continued re-growth of coupon marketing. Steinman said, "The advantage of direct mail is the targeting capability to address specific consumer groups geographically."

Steinman's plan is to grow his mailing to more than 200,000 households over the next few years and expand Valpak's community service projects.

"I believe in being involved in the community that I live and work. I will continue to be actively involved with the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, the Springfield Boys & Girls Club, The Spirit of Springfield and the M.S.P.C.A. This is a tremendous opportunity to not only own my own business, but to also make a difference in the community I grew up in, " he added.

This spring, Steinman will launch Valpak.com, the online Web-based marketing tool offering unique savings available for download from the Internet. He will participate and offer various promotions and sweepstakes, debuting in May with the "$100 giveaway" in which several residents throughout Western Massachusetts will find a one-hundred-dollar check in their Valpak envelopes.
