| AGAWAM The VBO Magazine is pleased to announce in the memory of Peter Picknelly, Sr. to be awarding the Second Annual Peter Picknelly "Women in Business" Scholarship Award. Criteria for the award will consist of applicants being a non-traditional or continuing education female student who lives and attends college and works in the western Massachusttes area. Applications will be open to area women who have declared a major in business with plans of starting their own business, or a female who is currently starting her own business and is looking for financial assistance for her education in a specialty school. Applications are available at all area colleges and specialty schools or by calling the VBO at (413) 786-7700 ext. 2 Deadline for completed applications is April 15th 2006. A committee made up of western Massachusetts businesswomen will be reviewing the applicants on the basis of need, creativity, business plan and other criteria. Scholarship amount this year is $1,000.
