WNEC to host lecture on race and entrepreneurship

SPRINGFIELD The Western New England College Law and Business Center for Advancing Entrepreneurship will host guest speaker Robert Suggs on Oct. 25 at noon in the S. Prestley Blake Law Center. Suggs' talk on "Race and Entrepreneurship" is part of the Center's Entrepreneurship Speaker Series. The event is free and open to the public.

A Professor of Law at the University of Maryland School of Law, Suggs' scholarly work has explored such topics as corporate anti-takeover statutes, economic development, and the effects of racial status on market transactions. He also served as chair of the mayor of Baltimore's Minority Business Enterprise/Women's Business Enterprise Advisory Committee.

The Western New England College Law and Business Center for Advancing Entrepreneurship was established to provide graduate business and law students with an opportunity to offer practical consultation to entrepreneurs starting new or building existing small businesses in the community.
