Workshop for Inventors

SCORE has a new workshop for inventors and innovaters this month

SPRINGFIELD SCORE has a new workshop, titled "Tips on Commercializing your Innovation," it is specifically directed to the innovator/inventor.

The workshop has three major topic segments. The first discusses the various types and aspects of intellectual property including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. Following is information and considerations on what to do first highlighting market research, prototyping and patent application. Finally, the major commercialization options of selling, licensing or manufacturing are covered with emphasis on the "how to" steps.

This SCORE Workshop, scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon on Nov. 17, will be at the Scibelli Enterprise Center, One Federal Street, Springfield, across from the STCC campus. Register now for this workshop with its informative take home material. There is a nominal charge of $25.00 to cover the cost of these materials. Pre-registration is required.

SCORE is a non-profit, all volunteer national organization. They are a resource partner with the United States Small Business Administration. The SCORE mission is to provide free and confidential counseling and low cost business workshops to men and women who are starting up or operating a small business.

They have 43 volunteers locally with a wide range of business background and skills. Counseling is provided in Springfield at the Scibelli Enterprise Center and at WNEC, as well as at branch locations in Greenfield, Pittsfield, Northampton and Agawam.
